Classic was born in the early 1960s in the Associated Private Nature Reserves (APNR) in South Africa, where he spent his entire life. His tusks were large and heavy which made him recognisable and known as one of the top ranked bulls within the APNR.
But not only the APNR members and visitors were impressed by his enormous appearance. Younger bulls followed and saw him as a mentor figure for most of his adult years.
Classic was a great tusker living his own life in total freedom without any needs or interferences with humans. His life represents a symbol of the ideal human-wildlife relationship; where each party is respected and there is a real balance in their natural environment.
